I read in The Cary News that several people spoke up at the Nov 10th meeting about roadway width concerns. I drive Holly Springs Road everyday and agree with the 2040 Plan that it needs to be widened. It needs to be widened today if the environmental approvals and funding were available. Whether the Holly Springs Rd needs to be widened to 6 lanes with a landscaped median is up for debate. But at a minimum, this road needs 4 lanes plus a 5th for left turns. I would hope that phase one is to find the funding to widen the road to 4 lanes from Tryon to Ten Ten.
